ESES

This is a special type of nonconvulsive status in which continuous discharges occupy most of sleep. It is particularly associated with the active phase of LKS and is associated with intellectual deterioration and loss of language. It may also be referred to as continuous spike and wave discharges during sleep (CSWS). This electrical activity can persist for months or even years.
